About
Ready Words is a free writing tool for people who are building their spelling skills. It can help you write more independently. You can figure out how to spell words on your own. It can help you get practice at reading. You can see how to spell the word you were looking for.
Ready Words was made by a speech therapist who works in a middle school in Minnesota. When students have trouble writing, everyone says to use “speech-to-text” — but some students stutter or the iPad can't understand their words. This website was made especially for you if “speech-to-text” doesn't work very well for you.
How to use it
Type in the box at the top. The word bank shows words you might want. It sorts them from short to long. Tap a word to use it. Then start typing the next word. Did you tap the wrong word? Tap Undo. It takes back your last choice.
Want words about a certain topic? Tap a tab above the word bank. Try Foods & Plants, Animals, or Sports. More topics are coming soon.
Tap Settings to change things. You can make the text bigger. You can turn on high contrast. You can turn off spoken words.
All done? Tap Copy. Now you can paste your writing somewhere else. You can paste it into a Google Doc, Schoology, Notability, an email, a text message, or anywhere else.
