What you write is just for you.
Your writing stays on your device
When you type in Ready Words, your words do not go out onto the internet. They stay right on your computer, tablet, or phone. We cannot see what you wrote. We cannot see what words you chose.
There are no accounts
Ready Words does not have accounts or logins. You do not need a username or a password. We do not know who you are, and we do not keep a list of users.
Your draft is saved only for you
If you close the tab and come back later, your writing might still be there. That is because your own browser saves it just for you, on your own device. This saved draft is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can clear it any time by deleting what you typed, or by clearing your browser's data.
The same is true of the "Word level" you choose in Settings: your browser remembers it on your own device so you do not have to pick it again. It is never sent to us.
No tracking, no ads
Ready Words does not use tracking tools. We do not use cookies to follow you around the internet. We do not show ads.
You control the copy button
When you are done writing, you can tap Copy to take your writing out of Ready Words. You choose when and where to paste it, like into an email or a document. That is the only way your writing leaves Ready Words, and it only happens if you make it happen.
Saying words out loud
Ready Words can say words out loud to help you. This happens right on your own device, using a feature built into your browser. Your words are not sent anywhere to make this happen.
What about the website itself?
Every website runs on computers called servers. The server that runs Ready Words may keep simple records, like how many people visited and when. This is normal for every website on the internet. These records do not include anything you typed or wrote.
Technical summary for IT and network administrators
Ready Words is a static, 100% client-side web application (HTML,
CSS, and hand-written JavaScript, with no server-side
application logic, no database, and no third-party JavaScript
libraries or CDN-hosted scripts). All word-prediction,
spelling-match, and text-to-speech processing executes locally
in the user's browser; audio output uses the Web Speech API's
SpeechSynthesis interface, which runs entirely
on-device and makes no network request.
The only network requests the application makes at runtime are same-origin GET requests for its own static JSON data files and self-hosted font and picture-symbol assets — there are no calls to any third-party API, analytics service, or ad network, and the site embeds no tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or third-party cookies.
The application itself sets no cookies and requires no user
account, authentication, or login; no personally identifiable
information is collected, requested, or required to use the
site. User-composed text is held only in the browser's DOM and,
for draft-recovery convenience (and to remember the chosen word
level), in same-origin
localStorage, which is scoped to the user's own
browser profile, is never transmitted to any server, and is
never accessible to the site operator.
The only way data leaves the user's device under normal use is if the user actively taps Copy to place text on the system clipboard for pasting elsewhere — an explicit, user-initiated action, not an automatic transmission.
The site is served as static assets from Cloudflare's edge network; as with any web host, routine connection-level logging (IP address, timestamp, requested path) may be retained by the hosting infrastructure for operational purposes, consistent with standard web-server practice, but this is independent of the application and is not used by the application for tracking, profiling, or analytics.
Because the application does not collect, store, or transmit user-generated content or personal information, it does not implicate typical ed-tech data-privacy review criteria (e.g., FERPA/COPPA data-collection provisions) the way a server-backed tool with accounts or cloud storage would. This summary is provided to support technical review and is not a legal compliance opinion.
